apply for a Belgian Visa.

  • A Cambodian passport issued not more than 10 years earlier and valid for at least 3 months from the return date to Cambodia.
  • The passport must contain at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Previously issued Schengen visa (if there is any).
  • Completely filled and signed visa application form.
  • Two identical passport photographs with a light background.
  • Travel insurance worth a minimum of 30,000 € and valid for the entire Schengen area.

Belgium is a prime tourist site due to its historical landmark, modern architecture and rural idylls. Also, the country is visited by a lot of business tourists. The country is also famous for its long traditions in arts, fashion, and its cuisine. Tourists in the country can be guaranteed of a very good time as there are a lot of things to see all over the city and activities like hiking, biking and camping to engage in. Tourism in Belgium has been on the up since 2009. The number of visitors who visited Belgium in 2009 was just over 12 million which increased to 16 million in 2017. It has been estimated that these numbers will continue to increase in the years to come. The tourism industry generates about 2.8% of Belgium’s gross domestic product and employs about 3.3% of the working population.
 
Foreigners are not allowed to enter or leave the country with more €10,000 or its equivalent in any currency. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery and watches as this may attract petty criminals to you.

Belgium Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • Belgium tourist visa is issued for a maximum stay period of 90 days every 6 months.
  • Individuals who want to go sight-seeing, touring, for festivities can apply for this visa.
  • Medical travel insurance is required for everyone travelling to Belgium.
  • The insurance should be worth a minimum of 30,000 euros and should be valid for the period of stay in Belgium.
  • Booking with a tour agency that would cover accommodation should be done before the visa can be issued.
  • If you are not using a tour agency, hotel booking should be made. The booking should be valid for the duration of the application.
  • It typically takes about 15 working days for the visa to be processed but could take longer if more documents are required.
  • All applicants are expected to apply for the visa personally as their biometrics (fingerprints) would be required.
  • The application form must be hand filled. Online filled application forms would not be accepted.
  • When applying for a Belgian visa, ensure you have no criminal records.
  • Applicants are to have sufficient funds for their trip as proof would be required during application.
  • Travelling minors are to present their original birth certificate while applying for a visa.
  • A Belgian tourist visa costs 35 euros for children younger than 12 years, 60 euros for individuals over 12 years and is free for minors below 6 years of age.
  • The fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable.

Belgium Student Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • This visa type is issued to individuals aiming to study in Belgium.
  • Before applying for this visa you must have gained admission into an institiution of learning in Belgium.
  • A completed and signed visa application form is required. The form must be hand filled.
  • Students must have sufficient financial income or support for the duration of their course of study.
  • If your school would not provide accpommodstion for the student, the student must gt an external accommodation before applying for the visa.
  • A medical certificate showing that you are free of any disease that is contagious is required.
  • The original copy of your cerificate from your previous degrees and academic records from the last schools attended should be submitted.
  • Proof of registration at a recognized higher education institution in Belgium. It must cover a full-time course of study showing that the candidate’s main activity in Belgium is studying.
  • Applicants would be required to write a supporting letter stating why they chose to study in Belgium instead of their home country, Cambodia.
  • Documents in languages other than German, French, English or Dutch must be translated.
  • On arrival in Belgium, you must go to the local municipal administration within eight days to get a residence permit. The residence permit should be renewed yearly until you are done with your course of study.
  • The application for a new permit should be submitted about 30 to 45 days before its expiry date.

Belgium Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Belgian business visa is issued to business-minded individuals travelling to Belgium for commercial or trade purposes.
  • Holders of this visa can conduct businesses, negotiate and sign contracts, hire staff and even purchase business merchandise in Belgium.
  • This visa is usually valid for a maximum of 90 days in 180 days.
  • An invitation letter from the host company in Belgium stating the nature of the business to be conducted and the duration of the business would be required.
  • Employed applicants are to present a letter from their employer in Cambodia stating the applicant’s position at work and salary.
  • An accommodation reservation for the duration of your business stay must be made during the application process.
  • Sufficient funds are required for the trip. If your employer or host company in Belgium will sponsor the trip, it should be stated in a letter.
  • Individuals are to have travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros valid for the duration of their stay.
  • The visa fee is about 60 euros for individuals above 12 years and 35 euros for children between 6-11 years.
  • Fees are usually non-negotiable and non-refundable.
  • All applicants are expected to submit their applications in person to the Belgian embassy in Cambodia as an interview is sometimes required.
